# Welt MCP tools Generated from the server's tool definitions; do not edit by hand. Server: `https://welt.ergodic.dev/mcp`. 28 tools. ## `cancel_job` **Cancel a job** · *needs write access* Cancel a queued or running job. A running model may finish its current step, but no result is published. | Argument | Type | Required | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `job_id` | string (1–128 characters) | yes | Job ID returned by a submission or list_jobs. | ## `copy_research_dataset` **Copy a research dataset** · *needs write access* Copy a curated research dataset into the workspace as a new dataset with its curated target set (Open in Welt), ready for fit_model, evaluate_models or discover_causal_graph. The curated exclude columns (co-outcomes, leaks) are removed unless keep_excluded is true. Charged like a research download (get_pricing). Large tables are copied as a seeded row sample; the result's origin says so. Pass the same idempotency_key when retrying so the copy is not made or charged twice. | Argument | Type | Required | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `dataset_id` | string (1–200 characters) | yes | Research dataset ID from search_research_datasets. | | `name` | string (1–200 characters) or null | no | Dataset name shown in Welt. | | `keep_excluded` | boolean | no | Keep the curated exclude columns (co-outcomes, leaks); by default they are removed. Default: `false`. | | `idempotency_key` | string (1–100 characters) or null | no | Any string identifying this submission. Reuse it when retrying so the work is not submitted twice. | ## `create_dataset` **Create a dataset** · *needs write access* Create a dataset from a small table given inline: column names and rows of JSON scalars (null for missing). Use for up to about 1,000 rows; for larger files use create_upload_link or import_dataset_from_url. Optionally name the target column to predict. | Argument | Type | Required | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `columns` | list of string (≥ 1 items) | yes | Unique, non-empty column names, in order. | | `rows` | list of list of string or integer or number or boolean or null (≥ 1 items) | yes | Rows of JSON scalars in column order; null for missing values. | | `name` | string (1–200 characters) | no | Dataset name. Default: `"Agent dataset"`. | | `target` | string or null | no | Name of the column to predict (optional). | ## `create_evaluation_report_link` **Create an evaluation report link** · *creates a link; read access is enough* Create a link to a finished evaluation's HTML report that the user can open or share, valid for expires_in_days (1-7, default 7). Anyone with the link can view the report until it expires or is revoked. It shows the leaderboard and charts built from out-of-fold predictions; for regression these plot each row's actual and predicted value. It never opens the raw predictions endpoint. The URL is shown only once. Read access suffices: a read-only connection can create report links too. | Argument | Type | Required | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `evaluation_id` | string (1–128 characters) | yes | Evaluation ID (ev_…) returned by evaluate_models or list_evaluations. | | `expires_in_days` | integer (1–7) | no | Default: `7`. | ## `create_upload_link` **Create an upload link** · *needs write access* Create a one-time upload link for a local CSV (or Parquet, if enabled) file. Send the file with a single HTTP PUT within an hour, e.g. `curl -sS -T data.csv ''`; the response is the new dataset. The link works once and needs no other credentials, so do not share it. | Argument | Type | Required | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `name` | string (1–200 characters) or null | no | Dataset name shown in Welt. | | `target` | string or null | no | Name of the column to predict (optional). | | `format` | one of `csv`, `parquet` | no | Default: `"csv"`. | ## `discover_causal_graph` **Discover a causal graph** · *needs write access* Discover a causal graph from a dataset with a causal model (list_models family=causal). Domain constraints are not supported yet. Returns a job; poll get_job, then get_result. Spends credits. | Argument | Type | Required | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `dataset_id` | string (1–128 characters) | yes | Dataset ID (ds_…) from list_datasets or a dataset tool. | | `model_id` | string (1–128 characters) | yes | Model ID from list_models. | | `seed` | integer (0–4294967295) | no | Random seed recorded with the result. Default: `0`. | | `idempotency_key` | string (1–100 characters) or null | no | Any string identifying this submission. Reuse it when retrying so the work is not submitted twice. | ## `evaluate_models` **Evaluate models** · *needs write access* Cross-validate one or more tabular models on a dataset with a target column and rank them. Leave models empty to let Welt choose every available model whose limits admit the data. Every model sees the same seeded folds; a training-fold baseline is always reported. Data beyond a model's limits is refused unless you pass sample_rows. Returns the evaluation; poll get_evaluation until it finishes. Spends credits (estimated_credits is reserved now and settled for the models that finish). Priced per model that produces predictions: the fit rate on (folds - 1) x rows x columns plus the predict rate on rows x features, with one 5-credit minimum per evaluation (get_pricing lists the rates). Pass the same idempotency_key when retrying so the evaluation is not submitted twice. | Argument | Type | Required | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `dataset_id` | string (1–128 characters) | yes | Dataset ID (ds_…) of a dataset with a target column, from list_datasets or a dataset tool. | | `task` | one of `classification`, `regression` | yes | | | `models` | list of string (1–128 characters) (≤ 8 items) | no | Up to 8 model IDs from list_models to compare. Empty (default): Welt evaluates every available model for the task whose limits admit the data and lists the others under skipped. | | `folds` | integer (2–10) or null | no | Number of folds, default 5. With split=custom it must equal the number of fold_column values. | | `split` | one of `auto`, `kfold`, `stratified`, `group`, `custom` | no | auto: stratified for classification, shuffled k-fold for regression. group keeps each group_column value in one fold; custom uses fold_column values as folds. Default: `"auto"`. | | `group_column` | string (1–256 characters) or null | no | With split=group: the column whose values must never span folds (for example a customer ID). Not a feature. | | `fold_column` | string (1–256 characters) or null | no | With split=custom: the column whose distinct values are the folds. Not a feature. | | `seed` | integer (0–4294967295) | no | Seeds sampling, fold assignment and every model fit. Default: `0`. | | `primary_metric` | one of `roc_auc`, `log_loss`, `brier`, `accuracy`, `balanced_accuracy`, `f1_macro`, `ece`, `rmse`, `mae`, `r2`, `mape`, `median_ae` or null | no | Ranking metric. Default: roc_auc (binary), log_loss (multiclass), rmse (regression). | | `sample_rows` | integer (20–100000) or null | no | Explicit opt-in: evaluate a seeded sample of this many rows when the dataset exceeds a model's limits. Without it, over-limit data is refused, never silently sampled. | | `max_credits` | integer (≥ 1) or null | no | Refuse (budget_exceeded) when the estimate is higher. | | `positive_class` | string or integer or number or boolean or null | no | Binary classification only: the class whose probability ROC AUC, precision-recall and calibration use. Default: the second class in sorted order. get_evaluation reports the class used. | | `idempotency_key` | string (1–100 characters) or null | no | Any string identifying this submission. Reuse it when retrying so the evaluation is not submitted twice. | ## `find_similar_research_datasets` **Find similar research datasets** · *read-only* Find curated research datasets similar to one of the workspace's datasets, with short reasons. Only datasets sharing column-name words are returned; the 0-1 score is a relative ranking, not a probability. Compares only the dataset's column names, column types, row count and target; no rows are read and nothing leaves Welt. | Argument | Type | Required | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `dataset_id` | string (1–128 characters) | yes | Dataset ID (ds_…) from list_datasets or a dataset tool. | | `limit` | integer (1–24) | no | Default: `12`. | ## `fit_model` **Fit a model** · *needs write access* Fit a tabular model (classification or regression) on a dataset with a target column. Returns a job; poll get_job until it succeeds, then its result names the predictor for predict. Spends credits. Reuse it when retrying so the work is not submitted twice. | ## `forecast` **Forecast time series** · *needs write access* Forecast one or more time series with a forecasting model (list_models family=forecasting, e.g. chronos-2 or timestral-209m). A model whose forecast_envelopes all have max_series 1 (Timestral) forecasts one series per request: call once per series without id_column; more than one series is refused with unsupported_capability. The history is a long table: one row per (series id, time) with ISO-8601 times, the target columns and optional covariates. Give it as history_dataset_id (an uploaded dataset) or as history_columns and history_rows (small tables). Past covariates are observed in the history only; future covariates are also known for the horizon and then need a future table (future_dataset_id or future_columns and future_rows) with exactly horizon rows per series at its next timestamps and only the time, id and future covariate columns. Missing target or past-covariate cells may be null. The frequency is inferred unless given (frequency_unit, optionally frequency_every). Returns a job; poll get_job, then get_result (per series and target: timestamps, median predictions and the requested quantiles). Available only where the deployment enables forecasting (a forecasting model is listed or get_model reports run_with "forecast"); otherwise it returns model_unavailable. Charges, if any, follow the rate card (get_pricing) and appear in get_usage. Pass the same idempotency_key when retrying so the forecast is not submitted twice. | Argument | Type | Required | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `time_column` | string (1–128 characters) | yes | Time column (ISO-8601; naive times are UTC). | | `targets` | list of string (≥ 1 items) | yes | Target columns to forecast jointly. | | `horizon` | integer (1–100000) | yes | Steps to forecast after each series' last time. | | `model_id` | string (1–128 characters) | no | Model ID from list_models.
