Welt terms of service
1. The service
Welt is a hosted service that runs machine-learning models on tabular, time-series and observational data you provide: fitting predictors, predicting, forecasting, discovering causal structure and evaluating models. It is offered as a private preview: features, models and limits may change, and there is no uptime commitment. Welt may add, change or retire models; when a model is retired, predictors that depend on it may stop working, and we will say so in advance where we can.
2. Accounts and workspaces
You must give accurate account details and keep your credentials, API keys and assistant connections safe; everything done with them is treated as done by you. A workspace's owners and admins are responsible for who they invite and what those members do. You must be at least 18 to use Welt.
3. Your data
You keep all rights to the data you upload and to the predictors, results and reports Welt produces from it. You grant Ergodic only the licence needed to store and process that data to provide the service to you. You confirm you have the right to upload it and, where it contains personal data about others, that you have a lawful basis to process it with Welt. Welt does not use your data to train models. How your data is handled is described in the privacy notice, which is part of these terms.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use Welt to break the law, to infringe someone else's rights, to make decisions about people that the law reserves for a human or that are prohibited for automated systems, to attack or overload the service, to circumvent limits, quotas or billing, or to reverse-engineer the models. Welt may suspend access that threatens the service or other customers.
5. Credits and payment
Operations consume credits as set out on the pricing page at the rate card in force when the operation is submitted; estimates shown before submission are not binding, the settled amount is. Credits are prepaid, bought through Stripe, and are valid while your workspace exists. Granted (free) credits can be withdrawn. Charges, refunds and taxes follow the Ergodic terms. A spend cap set on a workspace is a limit Welt enforces, not a guarantee of the exact amount spent, because running jobs finish.
6. Models and their licences
Some models Welt serves are published by third parties under open-weight licences. Where a licence requires it, Welt shows an attribution notice and licence link with the model and its results, and you must keep that notice with the results you distribute. Public research datasets in Welt's catalogue carry their own licences and attribution, which apply to any copy you make.
7. Results are predictions
Model outputs are statistical estimates. They can be wrong, biased by the data you provide, and unsuitable for a purpose Welt was not told about. You are responsible for checking them before relying on them, and for any decision you make with them. Welt is not advice of any kind.
8. AI assistants and the Welt plugin
When you connect an assistant to Welt, that assistant acts in your workspace with the permissions you grant, and its actions spend your credits. Welt asks the assistant's provider to confirm non-read-only actions with you, but the provider's product decides how it does so. What you share with the assistant is governed by its provider's terms. You can disconnect it at any time.
9. Availability, changes and ending
Welt may change these terms by posting a new version here with its date; continued use after that is acceptance. You may stop using Welt and ask for your workspace to be deleted at any time. Ergodic may suspend or end access for breach of these terms, with notice where practicable, and will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your data except where the law or a security incident prevents it.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Welt is provided as is during the private preview, and Ergodic's total liability for the service in any twelve months is limited to the amount you paid for it in that period. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law. The governing law and courts are those of the Ergodic terms.
